What Seva Means Here

Seva is Sanatan.

Ask anyone at the Dham what Seva means, and they will not point to a building. They will point to people — the volunteer ladling dal onto a steel plate, the family that travelled across the country to help marry a daughter who is not their own, the donor who will never meet the patient their gift will treat.

Guruji has often said there is no greater offering than feeding someone who is hungry, and no greater prayer than easing another’s pain. At Bageshwar Dham, worship and service are never far apart.

The Belief Behind the Service

A Tradition of Giving That Is Three Centuries Old.

The service you see today did not begin with a target or a strategy. It began roughly three hundred years ago, when Sanyasi Baba first made this land a place of tapasya — and of care for whoever arrived at its doors.

Today it continues under Pujya Guruji. The scale has changed; the intention has not. Seva here remains the natural expression of Sanatan Dharma, lived rather than merely spoken.

Annapurna Rasoi

No one who comes to the Dham should leave hungry. Free, freshly prepared meals are served to every visitor — thousands on ordinary days, far more on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

A Hospital Where Treatment Is Free, and Hope Is the First Medicine.

The Bageshwar Dham Medical and Science Research Institute, rising in Gadha, is being built to offer free treatment to underprivileged cancer patients. Its foundation stone was laid in February 2025, and its first phase is planned as a 100-bed facility with modern equipment and specialist doctors — built by the Bageshwar Dham Jan Seva Samiti, funded by the contributions of devotees, one gift at a time. A single brick, the Dham believes, can change a life.
